I'd look for something local so you don't have to pay for international shipping. _________________ The Engine Whisperer

Hey shaun! there's a hobby place in frankston that's really good with the whole RC thing! When we go motor shopping we should go there! _________________ Bots don't like sand. It's so...Sandy

I'm also guessing that that radio, being in America, would be american frequencies?
Yeah serious, head of to bunnings with about $70, get two XU1 drills, two red wheels and some bolts/zip ties and a smallish sheet of mdf or plywood and go!!!
(oh, you'll need a controler for it too) _________________ ( •_•)
go to bunnings and buy 2 identical 12v drills pull the motor gear box outta them take off the chuck then go get 2 red wheels from bunnings screw them onto the shaft and get the screw from the chuck put a mud guard washer on the screw and screw it back into the drill locking the wheel in. mount the motors onto a piece of plywood that has a screw or something on the front to keep it off the ground then get your SSU (servo switching unit) and wire the motors to it then put the 2 bats from the drills on it and plug them in then get your reciever and plug your servos into your radio so they activate/dectivate your SSU then turn on your radio and drive around for a bit you will then get a feel of what your bot could be capeable of
once you have done that you can build your proper version and just transfer the electronic running gear over to your new bot and put a couple of castors on it and drive around you will get a feel for the speed of the robot when its got armor.
then you go to your local wreckers pick yourself up a fan motor a couple of pullies and a couple of belts then get your spinning mass and bolt a pully to it and then get yourself a couple of pillow blocks to mount your shaft to, mount your pillow blocks to your bot and mount your fan motor to your bot so the belt will fit between your mass pully and the pullie you mount to your motor then buy a microswitch and make up an activation switch outta it for the weopon so it gets activated by your 3rd servo. then test it and see what gyroscopic forces you get and its effect on driving get used to this and refine your bot to your likeings as time goes on replace SSU with an ESC and replace the drill bats with better ones
this is a key method to botics for n00bs

Come to think about it i did buy 4 drills i might not use soon...
Here's what getto robotics is all about... servo switching units. These were the ones i used in roadkill recently.
well forgive me for being out for over 10 months i will edit it just so it looks funny for the next guy to read _________________ as a shadow is seen and not heard i am here

O.K, I've mounted my drill's with the wheel's on my bot's base and tested it an whatever, but I won't be able to do the radio stuff until i get one. I'm gonna make a new base anyway, so i'll just use the one I already have as my test base. =)..
Sorry about getting anxious, school hol's are a bit borin' right now.
By the way, í'm not sure but I think I should get that controller on E Bay I mentioned earlier, what do you guy's think?

I uses the drill hacking guide thing but instead of useing those hose thing'ss I used right angled bracket's attatched to the screw's that I had to put into the ball bearing holes. I used Maximum drill's on alluminium plate. Except instead of useing one of those thread making thing's for the wheel shaft thing I used my home made one consisting of a screw and a few bolt's.
=)
