gary mentioned some shiz he forgot to bring which would work perfect for what u needed for demon, send him a pm
castle creations......... FFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUU, stupid thing smoking for no reason after three spinups and a cheap hobbysity brushless worked perfect for whole event (till bender caved it in)
i should be there with rapture, should start tear down and modifications this week sometimes
mods r lighter internal frame, same biz outer frames, same weopon setup as it proved awesome, dial drives down for more controll (or learn to drive) and with weight saved will have tyre armour wrapped around backend so should have tire plus a large airgap before anybody can hit anything _________________ Andrew Welch, Team Unconventional Robotics

eh, maybe, will see how things go, still fixing garage and prganising what i have, dont have etc etc at moment.
Yeah the motor was a beast, the setup was good minus shortening spacer so belt cant climb up pulley to rub on top piece _________________ Andrew Welch, Team Unconventional Robotics

Not sure whether this is the right place to put it but I believe that the address , in the sticky topic "The next NSW event" is incorrect. I know that the sticky is not up to date, but it's the first thing noobs like me see and that's the only place I've actually seen an address, it took me ages to work out the correct address by spying into peoples houses on the day! (its 87 isn't it)

and back on topic: I'll be there, hopefully with my bot soon to be christened "Penetrator" if the name is unused, I know it sounds heaps like puncturer but its the only decent name I could think of!

well, you wouldn't be suprised that my first name choice was actually violator, but sadly that name had been previously used! besides, I am 14 so, it makes sense for me to name things in that manner.

yep it's a claw, "Prepare to be penetrated!" hehe, "prepare to be violated" takes it a bit too far don't you think.
BTW I believe you built woodzilla glen? if so how was the speed and power with the drill claw? I am planning on using a fan motor, but would a 300Watt scooter motor work better, I don't know how much torque a fan motor has compared to a 12v drill or scooter motor, I can use any of the three so I guess I should try for the best!
EDIT: It has a car jack screw, so it should be a little more efficient then the normal bolts used in jol and woodzilla

haha it was gutless. i think i finally managed to squeeze 150kg of force out of it. maybe 200 if you used a ballscrew and some extreme engineering. which is still nothing. claw was pretty quick. i got a few videos of it. hit me up on msn and ill send them over.
that and the motor burnt out if you didnt take the power off in like 2 seconds.
300w scooter would be fairly epic if you could jig it up to work with the chain drive and such. would be pretty complex to make it strong light and actually make it work. i have some linear actuator with a 100w scooter that puts out about 500kg on 24v so it could potentially do a bit more then that.
depends on the fan motor. but id probably imagine the scooter. the fan motors seem to be more wound for efficiency. _________________ www.demon50s.com - Minimoto parts

Last event of the year - let's have a big turn-out! Most of our bots got thru Battleshed OK, so who is up for this event?
