They have had them for a while.
Problem is the shaft is 5mm long and the motors are too slow.

Good Old Aldi had some 20V powertool skins as a special buy today, battery and charger not included so makes me feel like better value for our application.

Bought a drill and pulled it apart to check quality. Two speed gearbox, nice metal gears. motor is marked for 20V, might be good for those running higher voltages. Not bad at all for $30. It's on the left in the below photo.

Nice find, probably as good as it gets for robot spec drills Smile

Banebots heads-up:

Perhaps this is old news; I just found a photo and info on the new BB220 gearbox that has been teased on the Banebots site for a while now:

The BB220 has nothing to do with heavyweights, the gearbox measures 2.5" square and appears to be a replacement for the P80. The main difference is a slightly lower price and modular aluminium ring gears. I can't imagine Banebots keeping the P80 when they have a cheaper & more versatile gearbox.

There is no info on the BB150 gearbox but it could be a replacement for the P60. That could be a problem for us - if the P60 gets discontinued and the BB150 has different mounting positions, we are going to have to mod all our bot frames (or just hope the P60 gearboxes never wear out). On the other hand, we might get new gear ratio options for using brushless motors...

Interesting re the BB150, at least with Catastrophe I already have about 300 different mounting positions drilled, a few more won't hurt haha

Sorting out a mates car and found these at jaycar today 150 amp relays - http://www.jaycar.com.au/Electromechanical-Components/Relays-%26-Accessories/Automotive/Automotive-Relay-150A-SPDT/p/SY4073

Same size as the 60A ones it seems. Could be useful for the money.

Bought a bit of stuff from these guys lately, good prices, fast shipping. They carry nearly all the SIEG machinery too.

http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__57095__Turnigy_Reaktor_30A_1000W_Balance_Charger.html

Hobbyking seem to have absorbed icharger and now market the 3010B as this thing for half the price ($188 AUD if you stick around on the page for a few minutes)

Inside and out it's the same charger. Only thing to note is the CP2102 usb to serial in it has the same serial number so you must change that if you want to datalog with two of them on the computer ( unlikely to be a problem for you guys!)

I hope they bring out more gear ratios; 16:1 is the only option that is likely to be useful in bots. Its good to see the BB150 is using larger gears but the 16:1 gearbox is almost double the weight of the equivalent P60.

Meanwhile, Banebots is discounting the P60 16:1 gearbox by 30% http://www.banebots.com/product/P60S-44-57.html the exchange rate is crappy at the moment, but its a pretty good deal.

I dont normally post links to Chinese Bargain sites, since they are usually of highly dodgy quality, but this one is sooo huge, and so full of interesting stuff that its probably worth a snoop around for most of the builders here. I did a search and Ive not seen anyone mention it before.

http://www.banggood.com/Wholesale-Electronics-c-1091.html

Prices are almost AliExpress super-cheap levels, but a easier to buy from, and Shipping is quite reasonable too.. mostly free if you aren't in a hurry, ~$5 for 6-9 days, or 20$+ for 3-4 day couriers.

Ive linked to the Electronics specific subsection there. (Arduino, 3D printers & parts, Tools, Raspberry Pis and Mechanical are all great sub-sub sections etc), but theres a lot of other categories on the menu to the left that might be as interest as well.

I just ordered a grab bag of interesting (hopefully useful and good) odds and ends to see what the quality is like. If I remember, Ill come back and say as the toys arrive Smile

Hope it helps, but no *recommendations yet until I get my first order, just that its very interesting to look around the huge range at low $ (I spent a couple of hours browsing, growing and then winnowing the shopping list !) Smile
