It needs belts connected, end stops wired up, one of the stepper motor's wires extended and the bed mounted.
Planned upgrades are better electronics & a heated bed but need to get his up and running first. _________________ Steven Martin

Is the strength of your printed parts simalar in the Z axis as it is in the X and Y axis? I mean does it shear easily between the layers? I'm still thinking about your printed kitbots.
It doesn't appear to shear easily, Obviously the strength is reduced in that plane but it seems the weakest part of the parts is the plastic itself which is quite brittle when cold. Not sure if this will be an issue at the scale of antweights. I was hoping aaron would be there last weekend so I coudl find out. I still think its more than feasible.
I have concluded that attempting to write while feeling like crap is unproductive and have spent an hour or two today getting 3D printer working.
All seems to be going well except for me being lazy and still not getting a good bed for it. However printed a few bits and pieces looks so much better. And probably took 6/7hrs from parts to printing.
Few things to go in particular my threaded rod is a little bent so I get about 0.25mm wobble which you can see on the outside of the parts.
But still pretty happy. _________________ Steven Martin

Played a bit more tonight. I tightened the crap out of my belts hoping to reduce the backlash I am seeing unfortunately made little difference.
Now just had a 3am AHA moment as to why there is still so much backlash. I think my zip ties holding in the lm8uu bearings have come loose. So I shall tighten those tomorrow and see how it goes.
Still having lots of issues with first layer and getting it to stick reliably. Heated bed will help or I will have to go grab some blue painters tape.
