If you wanted to buy a 3 pounder??
I am thinking of possibly producing some 3 pounder kits, but would appreciate any input from members.
I have a basic 2 wheeled wedge, which could have a 1 piece heat treated shell, with options for a lifter, flipper and/or clamper type weapon
2nd on the list is a horizontal undercutter. I have a prototype called " The Wheel Deal", in that it should be best at removing wheels
So, while my main focus will be selling to education, i there is interest, I might also sell parts, or assemblies through possibly, this forum?
A basic wedge bot, complete, could cost around $300..., maybe less or more, depending on how complete the kit is
At the moment, I have a questimate of $350 for a basic wedge, with transmitter and receiver, everything you need except battery charger. The outer shell is 1 piece heat treated steel!!
So, 2 things....do you think that anyone would be interested? and 2--Maybe we could throw around some designs and tweak things..
Some of you have already built great wedges and horizontals, so maybe we could piece togther some of the best features?
Let me know what you think
Thanks

My personal opinion is that the 3lb beetle class is a winner, the price point is right, the physics are more analogous to the 30lb class, the robots are big enough that they're not like working on swiss watches, and the fights are almost as entertaining as a 30lb fight and far more entertaining than a 150g fight. I personally think that it's a category that we should focus on and help it grow, particularly given the dire need for new blood in the sport.
In NSW over the last few years we have fought beetles more often than 30lb, and probably about the same as 150g, but it's not as big in the other states iirc _________________ <Patrician|Away> what does your robot do, sam
<bovril> it collects data about the surrounding environment, then discards it and drives into walls
