it worked for me …i think i may have had it to hot cause it condensed instantly…..this is the proper up abs stuff…but also tested it with bilby black and it worked just as good…..only i left it in for to long and the surface bubbled up…so i guess as soon as the surfase looks glossy open the lid of the rice cooker and remove the parts. _________________ Miles Blow - Julie Pitts

how much detail did you lose?
Angus do you have anything to demonstrate loss of detail in intricate prints? just so i have a benchmark for whether to try it or not _________________ <Patrician|Away> what does your robot do, sam

yeah you loose a bit of detail….its probably just like a coat of thick lacquer or paint. That skull didn't have much detail on the teeth when i drew it in sculptris….but the lines on the top of the skull turned out fine and they still looks great….also it apparently makes all the layers glue together better, so its good to do it even if not for looks. _________________ Miles Blow - Julie Pitts

Bilby cnc nylon filament, has anybody played with this yet?
I received some yesterday, loaded it up and printed a cube absolutely perfectly.
fast forward to today, cannot print with it.
it extrudes when you first feed it in and then it stops. I don't think it's jamming the nozzle but jamming in the extruder teeth. any ideas before i rip the extruding head apart?
bit of backstory of why I am using nylon.
Mate at work has a really old tractor and needed a carby float, as he connot get one anymore (really old as tractor) the cube I printed as a test has been floating in petrol since I printed it.

have you tried going to maintenance and hit withdraw filament? Maybe needs to warm up for longer at beginning or something. _________________ Miles Blow - Julie Pitts

Tried withdrawing and extruding a few times, when I go to withdraw it is stuck in there pretty tight like it is jamming on the teeth, tried pla setting it was too cold and didnt extrude, I will take a picture of the filament after I take it out of the head when I get home from work. It digs into the filament like it should then just stops and burrs it up.
IIRC nylon has a lower melting point than ABS. Do you have the temp mod on it?
Try switching that on. Or Alternatively try printing with the top open. Your going to need to pull it apart and clean the extruded dog before proceeding. _________________ Steven Martin

no don't have a temp mod on it yet, the extruder teeth were all jammed up with gunk, while i was in there decided to take the nozzle off for a clean, bad idea! snapped the nozzle off inside the block then I read the instructions *do not remove nozzle before withdrawing* bugger will see how it goes when i get the new block from pp3dp

duuude! haha that sucks. You don't need to withdraw, it just all has to be molten.
I did a super quick vid on restoring colour, goddamn I need a wide angle lens... http://youtu.be/EJCxVdO8DUc pls excuse the terrible focus.

For the price, it doesn't look too bad. If it's as flexible as they say and it's able to do repeatable work without constant setting changes, it would be worth buying IMO _________________ https://www.halfdonethings.com/
