(This is our time! This is real working anti-gravity technology. The world is now ready for this technology, with it will come love, peace, and harmony in the world.)

and to top it off in the first paragraph it says he is flying around in secret but in the secon or third paragraph he says he has yet to make the machine but is sure it works.

i know if any one can be arsed try and make this mythical machine post images of you flying and a dersription of how it went.

you know some of the theories behind the magnets sounds plausable (not for hovering ships or the other stuff they are claming ) but it would take a couple of experements to prove it would work.

anyone want to try?

maybe i'm just dreaming of a battery that dosn't run out Very Happy

Many have tried, many have failed. The only real working anti-gravity device I have seen is a piece of NIB magnet floating over some Bismuth and the natural anti-gravity of deep space Razz

the searleffect one i found out about in a 15 year old nexus magazine, the story is still the same. either he is very persistant, a great con man(though i see not much way of making profit out a thing like this) or he really has something.

Google "Levitron", you may have seen them at Australian Geographic, they have to be seen to be believed - no power source! except spinning the top. Of course the secret magnetism - ooooohhh!

ah yes. i saw something similar being demonstrated and sold at the easter show stalls thingy.

U spin the thing then tilt the platform a little and the magnetism or something makes the spinning top float.

Really quite clever

Just an update to that page glen originally posted.

"The technology previously posted on this page has been tested further and it has not been successful unfortunately. We hope that in the near future someone will invent the technology to defy gravity and produce that technology in the best ways possible. Such as levitation of humans for purposes such as helping the elderly get around. Being able to fly in the sky like Angels."

Heh... wish i could have seen the original designs!!!

Though as far as I am aware megnetism under its own power can only get so far off the ground before it hits a limit. I dont know why.
Theres a challenge out there somewhere to make a levitation device that reaches 100 feet or something and they'll pay $100,000 to the successful party.

Cant remember that one either... lol

Thats magnetism, not anti-gravity. It may look like it, but its not.

Magnetism can be an attractive or repulsive force according to polarity, and falls off as the square of the distance from the field source. So 3 times as far = 9x as weak a field, which makes it almost useless for doing more than hovering a small distance above a surface.

Gravity is a purely attractive force (as far as we know so far), and so far the only way to make it is to have a mass around. Given that we're sitting right next to the earths mass of 6,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 kilograms (literally !), its kind of hard to notice any gravity field we are capable of producing.

Sorry, I'm not trying to be picky, but magnetism is no more anti-gravity than an aeroplane is.. Its important to understand that since Anti-gravity is a favourite subject of fringe-physics-nuts who probably dont even know what 9.8m/s/s is.

Besides, given that 90% of our robots are powered by magnetic fields in one way or another, its relevant info.. Cool

i'd say 100% Smile
True.. but if we can be sailing around using magnets who really cares about true antigravity? Very Happy
