Dad got a new pace maker/defribulator today. He should be discharged tomorrow. Thank you for all of your support. It was a comfort.
Now he can go back to working 7 days a week 20 hour a day. _________________ So even the rain that falls isn't actually going to fill our dams and our river systems

Dad is down at Sydney atm to find out if he can get an electronic pump installed similar to but not exactly the same as this http://www.intellihealth.com/hope/htmH46index.html It is an experimental one, so he can get it for free if he meets the criteria. There have been twelve installed in the world so far. Dad might get to be the lucky thirteenth.
He will have to carry a back pack of batteries to run the pump and also have an AC adaptor. He will be handy to have around at robot meets. I just need to borrow this battery....
We are lucky to live in a world where technology can be used to help us. Imagine what tomorrow will bring. _________________ So even the rain that falls isn't actually going to fill our dams and our river systems

Thanks.
I have really been lucky. Many people have not even known who their father was.
Have you ever thought how imminent death changes your perspective? The most important thing in the Irwin house last month must look unimportant now.
Issues that may cause us to want to tear strips off our fellows would not be all consuming if we found that they had moments to live. We would be more ready to forgive people for all sorts of things.
Life is very short. We need to enjoy our lives and not get too worked up over the small stuff. _________________ So even the rain that falls isn't actually going to fill our dams and our river systems

I heard today that the NSW doctor found two blocked blood vesels in dad's heart. They can be opened by a simple procedure. The doctor feels that dad wont need the mechanical heart at all. The QLD doctor told dad to "go home and show people how to die with dignity".
Second opinions are good. _________________ So even the rain that falls isn't actually going to fill our dams and our river systems

Today dad got a mechanical heart. Isn't technology great? Imagine what medicine will be like in the next ten or twenty years. Dad is also on the transplant list. _________________ So even the rain that falls isn't actually going to fill our dams and our river systems
