LOL! We can't have that happening now, can we Waddy
I think Andrew has a new favourite bot now, I've been bugging him to find the bug in Sproings lifter for the last month and he keeps working on this spinning thing And he said I was spinner mad! Hehehehe
mmm... I wonder how hard it would be to converted Tri Terror Trax into an MDF bot _________________ https://www.halfdonethings.com/

MM looks like we under estimated the weight of that rotor lol or forgot about weighing it after we put the extra bar work in.I just took it down for a weigh in the robot on its own with a 7 amp sla is 9.950 kgs with the rotor on it is 14.055....thats 4.105 kgs for the rotor ..I might need to borrow your nicad packs to run this one arron :shock:edit I dont think the arms and the top plate would be any more than 1kg all up to that is aproximatly 3 kgs on the outer circumferance ...no wonder it kicks that 5 kg block of iron bark across the floor when only spun up by hand ..nearly ready for testing you might have to bring your camera over again
I have put in a power link and a battery clamp and gave it another spin up .
It makes a a good fan lol I also gave it a small spin with stewart sitting on it lol about .5 seconds makes a good merry go round then Megan had a turn so it has no probs starting up with 30 kg sitting on it.
Some backyard filming coming up. Totally un-editing, including mistakes and the exclusive "Merry-Go-Pound!" _________________ https://www.halfdonethings.com/

10 out of 10 for coolness.
But minus several million points for good sense in testing
If I didnt know that Andrew fixes Mowers as a job, and has probably learned to keep his (bare) feet out of the way of spinny things by now, I'd be inclined to whack you over the back of the head for doing that..
Remember though, Lawnmowers arent radio controlled and have much less likelyhood of doing something unpredictable by themself than bots do.
Something with much energy stored in it only needs to bend something in the rotor when it hits something, develop a wobble, and you might not be able to dodge out the way in time to save your head as it wildly leaps about. Dont you guys have a piece of polycarb to stand behind ?
Please be careful.
Apart from that, it looks great. _________________ Great minds discuss ideas. Average minds discuss events. Small minds discuss people

You never saw the bendy 5mm steel bar on Annihilation. I was spininng it up off the batteries seperated from the robot itself and Andrew lobbed a coke bottle in it and it did a huge flip @ 2500rpm showering me in rocks and sucking the 7amp out of my hands and into the spinning flipping mass
If it wasn't already taken, I would so rename our team as "Rednek Robotics"
The "Merry-Go-Pound" is soo much fun. I'll have to get Andrew to film me on it next time It's as good as the Human Full Body Spinner I made last year
