I just noticed some interesting posts on the RFL forum about large planetary gearboxes for Magmotors. it seems this (or something very similar) is what powers Sewersnake:
I always thought large planetary gearboxes were insanely expensive, but these are cheaper than the Whyachi gearboxes I was going to get and they are also lighter and smaller - it I design in an out-board bearing the output sharft should take the strain, even thought its a little smaller than the Whyachi's.
Looking at all the parts, I am thinking that they would fit into a wider, thinner wedge, which might look like a combination of Cobra and Speedbump. I can't recall seeing anything like that in a lightweight, but it might do well. The tendency to lift the front of the wedge when it charges could be fixed with a semi-articulated set of forks, as seen on Agasma:
