The lightning ev guy said " it wasn't worth selling them anymore" Sounded like he wasn't moving enough stock. Thats what he said when I emailed him.
I tried the master instruments guy in QLD (via email) and he said they only supply packs that they makeup from Sydney. It sounded like he ddnt know what they were though.
Hmmm would probably have to go directly to the source in Melb and get a bulk lot of cells. I don't think I really need any atm but it is disappointing that I won't be able to buy any in the future.
If people are interested, I can get the hobbycity cells for $12 ea, and if we want lots, might be able to get that even lower. _________________ ( •_•)

Why not move to Turnigy Lipo packs - they are cheaper and lighter for the same capacity. The Nanotech beetle packs I just recieved look very well made.

Physically too large is the main problem for moving to lipo, in my robot at least. That and physically fragile without tons of space consuming padding.
Bit of a shame lightning ev's gotten out of it. $9 a cell for the real deal was great D:
However if your robot doesnt draw that much power you'll probably find the fake ones on ebay will do just fine. Demon did the entire bris event on a single fake pack. Didnt work as good as the genuines but well enough!

Hi Nick
Good suggestion on the Turnigy lipo batteries. We might end up going that way!
But I felt powerful using the BIG soldering iron on the a123s.
