Techfest 2010 - iNexus comp at Curtin uni.
Hi guys,
After more than a year of discussions, meetings and phonecalls, Curtin University (in Western Australia) will be hosting Techfest's iNexus competition.
The prizes at the moment includes a trip for 1 member from each of the top 3 teams to IIT, Bombay. As Curtin signs on more sponsors, there are sure to be more prizes.
Why am I going on about this? Well it's my fault Yours truly is the EO for this competition.
If you want to see the problem statement for the competition or just read up a bit more on it: http://techfest.org/initiatives/inexus/ _________________ They say that he crossed the fine line, from insanity to genius.

slight update on my progress prob should put this in my build thread not here but anyway.
i have most of my parts i think so looks like i may just make it afterall.
for micro controler i went a bit overboard and got a pair of these http://www.pololu.com/catalog/product/718
main way of sensing where the bot is will be using the lines and digital line sensors, motors are B62 probably from RMP. wheels are lite flite.
have yet to start building or programing
would have liked to have encoders on the wheels but dont think i will get it done for this comp maybe next year if its on again.
Also have a bunch of ultrasonic distance sensors at 4-30mm i might implement
Marto if you are still planing to enter how goes your teams project?
anyone else from here lookign to enter? _________________ Remember to trust me, I am an Engineer.

I watched it live, but it was a bit frustrating, as the feed went a little silly a few times. Most of the teams were pretty ordinary, which was a shame, especially given the huge amounts of work they must have put into it, but it was enjoyable nonetheless. Good work, Mike. _________________ Struggling from the ashes of a fallen civilisation

The streaming seemed to get dodgy the further out of perth you were... but now that the streaming is over, everyone seems to be able to view the event.
Yeh, unfortunately the teams were experiencing issues of all different types... My hope is that other students will see it and think they can do better, a sure way to get more teams
Sean, which rules are you referring to? _________________ They say that he crossed the fine line, from insanity to genius.
