Thought I might as well start a thread for Pyrobot
Robot: Pyrobot
Team: Rotwang
Builder: Gary Stott
Driver:
Class: Ultibot or Robowars Novelty Bot
Chassis/Armour: Steel
Weapon: Flame Thrower
Drive: Wheelchair motors with V belt final drive
Controller: Probably IBCX
Batteries: 4 X 4 amp AGMSLA’s series parallel
Combat Record: TBA
Last Event: Grantville 2006
Pyrobot is a bot I really won’t to have working for the work Christmas party and I would really like to have him going for Robowars too.
I have decided to set the flame weapon up with the legal Robowars size butane tank rather than the larger propane one allowed under Ultibot rules.
I'd be interested to find out more about the speed control because I have some wheelchair motors I have been wanting to try out

We have 2 bots on wheelchair motors, Bulldoze and Pyrobot.
At stock voltage IBC’s work fine, I was driving Pyrobot around with one of the Scorpion’s no problems.
The problems seem to start if you wont to over volt the wheelchairs.
The motors can take it but you need controllers that can handle 30 cell packs and although theoretically the MMC and IBC’s I have tried should we have blown a few parts.
Brett was going to make a change to Bulldozes MMC’s to hopefully sort this problem.
Don’t wont to clutter ECM’s thread but thought this showed flame effect in a nice dark arena and crowd reaction.
Also the first post is way out of date, the original Pyrobot is still unfinished, the featherweight fighting bot is a invertible brick powered by 2 drills with cholsons Sorpion XL and 4 M1's. Uses a car injector for gas valve. _________________ Satisfaction is proportional to effort and results.
