Indeed! There's a definite energy limit in a vertical spinner before mobility is just non existant. Condensing two counter rotating blades into a robot could be interesting. _________________ www.demon50s.com - Minimoto parts

Weight of such a setup is the main problem.

Doesn't prevent the gyro forces as counter rotating blades are in one axis while turn is in a separate axis. However, counter rotating blades in a horizontal would be good to prevent the robot from spinning on the spot when the weapon spins up and would help keep it driving in a straight line. _________________ https://www.halfdonethings.com/
This guy has some great vids, lots of old robot wars and battlebots vids minus the commentary. Many of the battlebots ones don't seem to have been on air.
hey guys, come across this great vid on an old hard drive so i thought id share. its the time we got the OK from management to use the childrens Go-Karting track at the entertainment center to race the robots. Pretty much everyone there participated and I think no active weapons was agreed upon as the only condition. Stealth didn't hear that part i guess :p I cant quite tell who won maybe Brett or Glen. Was an expensive fail for Dad, his sanyo batteries fell out and shorted. I miss the events i used to participate in, I would like to go to the next event with dad but dont know if i can with work.

Playlists are up for all of the Dragon Con Robot Battles events. The 30lb playlist includes the special BattleBots exhibition match.
checked the video file its from 10 years ago. we done well having that many robots still going at the end of an event. yes i got stuck too that was annoying. i was really trying too with Reboot but overall it was tricky but yeah really fun
yeah resolution is 320:240 sign of the times, think it was the camera the kerro's had.
i remember back then dad had to spend 600ish to get a brand new Canon which boasted twice that resolution and image stabilizing great camera filmed a lot of events with that particular camera but ive been looking to upgrade it as its always good to have good video to show for all the stuff you just smashed in the arena. _________________ My combat robot Robowars on YouTube RotwangRobotics

Camerabot footage hasn't made it online yet, though it should at some point.
